   We are investigating a fault affecting part of our reading experience. Articles and text view may fail to open, and the personalised For You feed may be slow or fail to load. Our websites and apps remain available, and reading in page (replica) view is unaffected.

   The cause has been identified as a recurrence of the internet connection fault reported for 19-20 August, which disrupted replication between our database environments. We are restoring the affected database nodes.

   The affected database nodes have been restored and replication between our environments has resumed. Articles and text view are opening normally again. We are monitoring to confirm stability before closing this incident.

   This incident is resolved. Between approximately 03:40 and 05:27 PDT on 24 August 2026, articles and text view failed to open and the personalised For You feed was slow or unavailable. Our websites and apps remained available throughout and reading in page (replica) view was unaffected. This was a recurrence of the internet connection fault reported for 19-20 August; that connection has now been removed from the affected path entirely. No data was lost. We apologise for this disruption, and particularly for the fact that it is a recurrence.
