   We are investigating a fault affecting part of our reading experience. Articles and text view may fail to open, and the personalised For You feed may be slow or fail to load. Our websites and apps remain available, and reading in page (replica) view is unaffected.

   The cause has been identified as a fault on one of our internet connections, which disrupted replication between our database environments. We are restoring the affected path.

   This incident is resolved. Between approximately 23:27 PDT on 19 August and 01:52 PDT on 20 August 2026, articles and text view failed to open and the personalised For You feed was slow or unavailable. Our websites and apps remained available throughout and reading in page (replica) view was unaffected. The cause was a fault on one of our internet connections, which disrupted database replication; the affected path was moved to an alternative carrier and the database environment repaired. Website access was briefly interrupted several times during recovery. No data was lost. We apologise for the disruption.
