   The rsync service at rpki.ripe.net is currently unavailable after a software update. We are currently investigating the issue.

   monitoring
   We reverted from `rsync-3.1.3-28.el8_10.x86_64`, this mitigated the issue.

   resolved
   Downgrading the package resolved the issue. We will review our patching policy, as this incident shows that security updates of packages can contain behavioural changes that affect production services.
